Manuscript Submissions

We're looking for stories that exemplify young adult fiction at its best! You can submit your manuscript for consideration electronically or by mail.

Submit Electronically

  1. Fill out and submit the form above, selecting "I have a manuscript to submit for consideration" in the pull-down box.
  2. In the message box, provide the following info:
    • Your full name.
    • Your mailing address.
    • A phone number where we can reach you.
    • The title of your manuscript.
    • A brief synopsis of your story.
    • A short statement explaining how your book fits with LizStar Books' mission and objectives. Why are we the right publisher for your work? If relevant, include a brief description of your background and how you are uniquely qualified to write the story you have in mind.
  3. Prepare your manuscript as a Microsoft Word or PDF file.
    • Include your name and contact information on the first page of the manuscript.
    • Double-space the manuscript.
    • Include line and page numbers.
    • Name your file as follows: LastName_ManuscriptTitle
  4. E-mail the file to info@lizstarbooks.com. Include "Manuscript submission" in the subject line of the e-mail.
  5. You're done! We will e-mail you regarding the status of your manuscript within 12 weeks.

Submit by Mail

  1. Prepare your manuscript package, including the following items:
    • Your typewritten, double-spaced manuscript, with line and page numbers.
    • A title page containing your full name, mailing address, phone number, and the title of your manuscript.
    • A cover letter giving a brief synopsis of your story and a statement about how your book fits with LizStar Books' mission. Why are we the right publisher for your work? If relevant, include a brief description of your background and how you are uniquely qualified to write the story you have in mind.
    • A self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like your manuscript returned.
  2. Mail the file to:

  3. We cannot confirm the receipt of manuscripts sent by mail, therefore we recommend that you use a mailing method that provides delivery confirmation.
  4. You're done! We will e-mail you regarding the status of your manuscript within 12 weeks. If you would like to be contacted via postal mail instead, please include a second self-addressed, stamped envelope for our reply.
